STEM Educator & Equity Visionary - Atlanta Public School
"Georgia State’s B.S.E. in Middle Level Education has positioned me to view curriculum and instruction through the lens of justice, equity, and intentionality. As an educator in an urban public school, it is critical to acknowledge and understand the historical and political contexts that shape students' educational experiences. The culture of the B.S.E. program also gave me the practical tools necessary to create community in my classroom...
through daily connections, group norm development, and student-centered learning tasks."
Middle School Teacher - Fulton County School
"Today, I am a middle school teacher thanks to Georgia State University’s B.S.E. in Middle Level Education program. More specifically, I am a critically conscious educator and department chair thanks to the B.S.E. degree. Indeed, my studies in evidence-based practices, equity-driven education, and culturally responsive teaching provided me with an invaluable mindset and skills that are essential to a middle-grades educator...
I certainly integrate this knowledge in my classroom practice, as well as into my conversations with fellow educators and leaders. Unquestionably, I recommend this program to anyone pursuing a career in education."
